The Super Tigre S2000 (often misspelled as Super Tiger) is a classic, large-displacement 2-stroke glow engine manufactured in Italy. It is highly regarded by radio-controlled (RC) airplane enthusiasts for its exceptional longevity and robust construction.
Displacement Variants: The S2000 series includes both 20cc (1.20 cu in) and 25cc (1.52 cu in) versions. The exact displacement is typically stamped directly onto the engine mount or crankcase.
Weight: It is a heavy, solid power plant. The 25cc variant weighs approximately 40.9 oz (1.16 kg).
Propeller Selection: It performs best when paired with large wooden propellers, typically ranging from 16×8 up to 18×8 once the engine is fully broken in.
Low Nitro Content: Super Tigre big-block engines do not tolerate high nitro content. It is highly recommended to use fuel with 0% to 5% nitro. Exceeding this makes the engine unreliable and prone to overheating.
Reduced Oil Mix: Unlike smaller glow engines that require 18–20% oil, the larger S2000 runs best on a leaner 12% oil volume. High oil content can cause poor mid-range transition and fouled plugs.
Carburetor Tuning: The unique Super Tigre Carburetor relies on the positioning of its internal spraybar. If the mid-range transition stumbles, pilots manually rotate the brass spraybar assembly in tiny 5-degree increments to adjust the fuel mixture profile
