The factory Tartan Twin 77 Glow (designated as the Tartan T77G or ST77G) is a vintage Italian-made, 44cc twin-cylinder, two-stroke model airplane engine specifically designed to run on methanol-based glow fuel right out of the box. Unlike its spark-ignition counterpart, this model relies on glow plugs and high-volume carburetors to deliver smooth, high-torque power suited for large-scale or vintage 1/4 scale R/C aircraft.
The Carburetor looks like the gas model but the jets are suited for glow methanol fuel.
Displacement: 44cc (2.68 cubic inches) overall, split between two horizontally opposed cylinders.
Configuration: Alternating firing or synchronous twin-cylinder layout with offset engine heads.
Fuel Type: Manufactured in both Glow Plug (Methanol/Oil mix, ideally 92% methanol to 8% oil) and Spark Ignition (Gasoline/Oil mix) versions.
Induction: Reed-valve intake system.
Propeller Sizes: Typically swings large props ranging from 15×8 to 18×10.
